AWS Data engineer, Bratislava

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a AWS Data Engineer in the Solar Energy sector, specialising in cloud-based solutions. As a Data Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and analytical systems for our solar energy applications.

You will play a crucial role in collecting, storing, and processing vast amounts of data generated by satellites, solar installations and other related sources. Your work will empower our team to make data-driven decisions, optimize performance, and enhance the overall efficiency of our solar energy operations.

Description & Responsibilities:

  • Development (coding) of new functional features and maintenance of a code in operations
  • Debugging and resolving software defects
  • Cooperation with other team members in the spirit of consistent and agile development
  • Contribution to the development of innovative principles and ideas
  • Participation in regular solution design sessions to analyse options and benefits
  • Code documentation

Job requirements:

  • University degree in IT
  • Experience or knowledge of technologies of this backend technology stack: AWS ( e.g. Lambda, S3, SNS, Step Function, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, DynamoDB)
  • Experience with building and maintaining of Cloud based Data lake
  • Experience in designing of batch and stream data ingestion/processing complex solutions
  • Programming languages: Python
  • Experience consuming data from web services, SOAP and REST technologies, HTML, XML and JSON
  • Familiarity with ETL and experience in creating pipelines for large data sets
  • Experience with designing CI/CD pipelines and its testing ( Gitlab CI/Jenkins/..)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as a code tool (CDK/Terraform)
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Linux
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to write clean and structured code
  • Testing and support of operation
  • Communication skills in English
  • Candidate should have EU citizenship or valid Slovak residence permit

Your personal data contained in the job application and its attachments (e.g. in the CV) will be processed in accordance with the applicable legislation, in particular the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) no. 2016/679 ("GDPR"). We send your application for employment and its attachments only to our internal employees and departments responsible for the application process. Your personal data will not be provided or made available to any third party.

Purposes and legal basis for the processing:

We will process and use your personal data only in connection with the processing of your application for employment in our company. Based on the data provided, we will decide on your suitability for the job. The legal basis for such processing of personal data is the adoption of steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (pre-contractual relations) under Art. 6 (1) letter b) of the GDPR. In case your application is successful, the data you have provided can be used during the course of your employment relationship. The legal basis of such processing is the performance of the employment contract under Art. 6 (1) letter b) of the GDPR.

Storage period:

If we cannot offer you employment with our company, we will delete the data you have provided during the application process at the latest in six (6) months.

In case you would like your application to be considered also for future vacancies, you have the possibility to grant the consent with the retention of your personal data for the period of two (2) years. If you consent to this, we will contact you if you have the necessary qualifications for another position that is to be occupied during this period. You can revoke the consent at any time by sending an email to legal@solargis.com. In case of revocation, we will immediately stop processing the respective personal data and delete them, unless there is another legal basis for their further processing. However, any processing performed before the revocation of your consent will remain lawful.

Rights of data subject:

In connection with the processing of your data you have the rights of data subject under Art. 15 et seq. of the GDPR, namely:

  • the right of access to personal data (providing a copy of personal data) and the right to information on the terms of processing of personal data within the scope of the Art. 15 of GDPR;
  • the right to request the rectification and completion of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • the right to erasure the personal data for the reasons set out in the Art. 17 of GDPR,
  • the right to restrict the processing of personal data in the cases provided for in the Art. 18 of GDPR,
  • the right to transfer the personal data to another controller.

In addition, you have the right to file a complaint to the Personal Data Protection Office of the Slovak Republic, if you consider that the processing of your personal data is contrary to the GDPR.
