We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to own and lead automated testing across our web application portfolio. You will join the Web Apps department and work closely with development teams building solar energy software used by clients in over 150 countries. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will define the test automation strategy, build and maintain test frameworks, and drive quality culture across the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing in enterprise environments
  • Strong experience with Playwright (or equivalent modern E2E framework with willingness to adopt Playwright)
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining test automation frameworks from scratch or significantly scaling existing ones
  • Experience designing test strategies: test plans, test case management, risk-based testing, regression suites
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests into deployment workflows
  • Experience with API testing (REST)
  • Demonstrable experience using AI-powered tools to enhance testing workflows (e.g., AI-assisted test generation, intelligent test selection, or copilot-driven scripting)
  • Ability to own the QA automation topic end-to-end: define strategy, set standards, mentor team members, and report on quality metrics
  • Experience working in cross-functional agile teams
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills — ability to trace issues across frontend and backend layers
  • English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related IT field

Preferred:

  • Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience introducing or scaling test automation in organizations with limited automation maturity
  • Performance, load, or basic security testing experience

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and lead the test automation strategy for Solargis web applications (Prospect, Evaluate, Monitor, Forecast, Analyst, and Energy System Designer)
  • Design, build, and maintain a scalable Playwright-based test automation framework integrated into CI/CD pipelines
  • Define and enforce quality standards: test coverage targets, regression policies, release readiness criteria
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement shift-left testing practices and embed quality into the development process
  • Perform manual exploratory testing for complex features and edge cases not yet covered by automation
  • Introduce and champion AI-assisted testing tools and workflows
  • Create and maintain test documentation, defect reports, and quality dashboards
  • Mentor developers on testing best practices and help build a quality-first mindset across the team

Your personal data contained in the job application and its attachments (e.g. in the CV) will be processed in accordance with the applicable legislation, in particular the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) no. 2016/679 ("GDPR"). Please read the following information on the terms of processing of your personal data and on the possibility of granting the consent with the retention of personal data for future vacancies.

Controller, recipients of data:

Your personal data will be processed by our company Solargis s.r.o., with the registered office at  Bottova 2A, 811 09 Bratislava, Slovakia, ID: 45 354 766 in the position of the controller. We send your application for employment and its attachments only to our internal employees and departments responsible for the application process. Your personal data will not be provided or made available to any third party.

Purposes and legal basis for the processing:

We will process and use your personal data only in connection with the processing of your application for employment in our company. Based on the data provided, we will decide on your suitability for the job. The legal basis for such processing of personal data is the adoption of steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (pre-contractual relations) under Art. 6 (1) letter b) of the GDPR. In case your application is successful, the data you have provided can be used during the course of your employment relationship. The legal basis of such processing is the performance of the employment contract under Art. 6 (1) letter b) of the GDPR.

Storage period:

If we cannot offer you employment with our company, we will delete the data you have provided during the application process at the latest in six (6) months.

In case you would like your application to be considered also for future vacancies, you have the possibility to grant the consent with the retention of your personal data for the period of two (2) years. If you consent to this, we will contact you if you have the necessary qualifications for another position that is to be occupied during this period. You can revoke the consent at any time by sending an email to legal@solargis.com. In case of revocation, we will immediately stop processing the respective personal data and delete them, unless there is another legal basis for their further processing. However, any processing performed before the revocation of your consent will remain lawful.

Rights of data subject:

In connection with the processing of your data you have the rights of data subject under Art. 15 et seq. of the GDPR, namely:

  • the right of access to personal data (providing a copy of personal data) and the right to information on the terms of processing of personal data within the scope of the Art. 15 of GDPR;
  • the right to request the rectification and completion of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • the right to erasure the personal data for the reasons set out in the Art. 17 of GDPR,
  • the right to restrict the processing of personal data in the cases provided for in the Art. 18 of GDPR,
  • the right to transfer the personal data to another controller.
