In collaboration with our partners, GeoSUN Africa and Suntrace, we have recently installed a total of 10 solar measuring stations across Zambia and Maldives. The measurement campaign is part of the World-Bank funded ESMAP project to improve quality of solar resource data available for different regions.

One of these solar measurement stations was installed at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport on 8th December 2015. The objectives of this solar component of the project is to deliver high quality solar resource data that are needed for validation of solar resource and meteorological models, focus on reducing uncertainty of the models, build a network of solar measuring stations and to implement a long-term sustainable solar resource monitoring program as one of support mechanisms for development and operation of solar power infrastructure in Maldives.

In addition to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Solar Measurement Stations will be installed at HDh. Hanimaadhoo, L. Kadhdhoo and S. Gan Airports under the project.
