Is it okay to share purchased datasets with third party engineers and potential project investors?

As per our standard terms and conditions of data use for single user, data shall be used only by the Customer for his/her personal and/or internal business use. Sharing data with third parties without prior written consent of Solargis is not allowed.

This applies to the data itself (CSV/XLSX), which should be confidential between your company and Solargis, and only can be shared under consent. But you can share the PDF reports from climData and Prospect to 3rd parties.

Situations where Solargis would typically grant consent for sharing of data by Customer with a third party include:

  • Project developer needing to share data with their technical advisor
  • Project developer needing to share data with contracted EPC company

In such cases consent is granted on the condition that Customer has responsibility to ensure that the third party with whom data is shared follows terms and conditions of data use and does not further share the data.

When it is required to share the data with several independent third parties, we require a purchase of multiple user or open license. Please contact us if you wish to receive a quotation for a multiple-user or open license to Solargis data.

For further information, please refer to https://solargis.com/legal/terms-and-conditions/

Does Solargis consider any requests for changes to terms and conditions for use of Solargis data or services?

The terms and conditions for use of Solargis data and online applications have been carefully authored to be fair to both our customers and us. Our objective was to prepare standard terms and conditions that would be acceptable to all customers. The terms and conditions have been reviewed and accepted by several large enterprises.

Changes to our terms and conditions are usually not possible. However, we can consider minor changes. To request changes to the the terms and conditions, contact us with details of the changes you’d like to see and the reason for requesting the changes.

Note that we are unable to change the governing law. Also, terms relating to intellectual property are not negotiable.
