Online database of Australia, Pacific and East Asia has been updated, technical note released

The part of the Solargis database covered by the MTSAT satellite, serving pvPlanner and iMaps applications, has been updated. This include regions of Australia, Pacific, Southeast and East Asia. Users of Solargis have now access to the most recent data developed with enhanced Solargis model version 2.0. For all online applications, the solar model uses improved and harmonized satellite and atmospheric data inputs, which have been available before only for Solargis climData deliveries.

Read more in Technical note covering the following topics:

  • What has changed and what are the effects
  • How does the updated online database compare to the previous version
  • What is Solargis climData uncertainty in Australia, West Pacific, Southeast and East Asia
  • Why is there a difference between Solargis climData deliveries and data from iMaps/ pvPlanner
  • What is the current Solargis database coverage by satellite data

Speeding up delivery of time-series and TMY orders for North America - in just 5 minutes

We have reduced the delivery time for time series and TMY P50 orders from 1-2 working days to just 5 minutes- for the region of Americas. This challenging process has been fully automatized thanks to dedicated work of our team and long-term experience with data in various climates. Now, when working on a tight deadline and requiring quick access to Solargis time series data, you will have one less thing to worry about. Over the course of this year, we plan to improve delivery times also for other regions.

New approach of importing Solargis TMY data into PVsyst

Solargis TMY (Typical Meteorological Year) data is the most recommended world-wide data source to gain reliable results from PVsyst simulations. The recent versions of PVsyst (version 6.12 and later) supports direct import of Solargis TMY data. Prior to PVsyst version 6.12, we provide Solargis TMY data in PVsyst standard format.
