15-min Time Series: the new standard

By default, Solargis Evaluate uses 15-minute Time Series data with up to 30 years of history, covering all relevant meteorological and environmental factors for PV simulation.

This high-frequency data ensures more accurate power output modeling, and allows optimizing component design to address short-term fluctuations as well as long-term trends.

With a full historical dataset, you ensure the system is resilient to shifts in temperature, wind, and extreme weather, while meeting the business model requirements.

 

Ray tracing technology and anisotropic sky model

 

The Solargis PV simulation considers all shading objects present in the physical world model by leveraging detailed geometric information about the scene and precise calculations for each ray.

Apart from shading objects, the PV simulation engine also considers verified PV component specifications, high-resolution terrain, and local solar, weather, and environmental conditions, including ground surface albedo and snow. This approach is particularly important when installing bifacial modules.

Our ray tracing technology simulates with 120x more data values per parameter than hourly TMY and captures the short-term variability in both front and rear-side solar radiation received by PV modules.

You can define different types of objects, such as buildings, trees, hedges, and other physical elements that might affect the solar power plant layout. By using the restricted line tool you can draw the service line and define its width, which allows for the placement of inverters into safe zones.

Our PV design incorporates advanced settings for electrical layout, including inverter setup, intelligent placement of transformers, and defining cabling losses. It lets you manually define factors like cabling, degradation, and environmental losses.

 

 

Energy system validation

This feature helps you identify and fix issues before energy simulation.
