For the first time since 2019, Solargis is updating the subscriptions, data usage, and the pricing policy for two products: the Prospect online application and Evaluate data service. The following changes were decided in response to the solar industry’s project development needs, the value we provide, as well as to the unfortunate global economic situation wherein inflation is significantly impacting our business.

The updates are effective from 25th July 2022. For renewals the updates apply from 8th August 2022. The following changes have been made to our products:

Solargis Prospect

  • Number of individuals in a standard subscription has increased from 3 users to 5 (Prospect Basic) and from 3 users to 10 (Prospect Professional) at an increased list price. The per-user fee is equal or lower to what it was previously
  • We have updated our fair use policy to improve user experience and prevent abuse
  • The Enterprise level subscription is available with no limitation on number of user accounts within an organization, no limit on the number of sites, and no limit on customer support. Contact us for a quote.

Solargis Evaluate

  • Evaluate Basic (TMY P50) subscriptions has been adjusted with a price decrease of up to 20% on larger subscriptions, and a price increase of up 25% on smaller subscriptions
  • Evaluate Professional (Time series + TMY) subscriptions will see price increases of between 0% and 25%, depending on the subscription package
  • For Evaluate subscriptions, data sharing of CSV data files with 3rd parties is being made easier in the Enterprise plan, but will no longer be possible with Basic and Professional plans
  • All data package subscriptions will continue to be offered on a “maximum available volume” basis. The rollover of unspent data credits will not be possible during renewals. As we introduce new functionalities the value provided will be even less tied to data credits consumed
  • New API plans with option of API access to hourly and 15-min TMY datasets have been introduced

The new pricing can be seen on our web pages. Get in touch with your account manager to understand how the above changes affect your subscription. Going forwards you will also notice Solargis’ dedicated drive towards improvement in the following ways:

  • Rigorous research and development of new products and features that are essential for the advancement of solar within the energy sector
  • Technological excellence and reliability of all existing services worldwide
  • Further improvements to our customer support and engagement

We greatly value your trust in our work and look forward to serving you for years to come. Do not hesitate to email contact@solargis.com if you have any questions or concerns.

New Solargis Prospect app: making pre-feasibility easier and more reliable

One of first steps in the development of solar energy projects is a pre-feasibility study. A key requirement is to make decisions on basis of reliable data, with limited time and resources.

Surface Albedo – most frequent questions

Due to the impact that surface albedo has in PV yield calculations (mostly when we talk about bifacial modules), we have noticed an increasing interest in knowing more about this parameter. These are the most typical questions we are receiving (with their corresponding answers):
