We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Head of Human Resources to lead both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day HR operations at Solargis. This is a senior leadership role that carries real influence over how we grow, develop, and retain our global team.

You will report directly to the CEO and COO and work closely with the leadership team. You will lead a small but capable HR & Office team and be empowered to evolve the HR function to match our international ambitions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience from international, multicultural environments, talent acquisition and retention, combines strategic vision with operational precision, and has a genuine passion for building people-first cultures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Strategy & Organizational Development

  • Partner with the COO and leadership team to align HR strategy with business goals
  • Align HR strategy with our subsidiaries in Canada and Singapore
  • Drive improvements to organizational design and cross-cultural policies
  • Lead workforce planning and succession planning across teams
  • Shape and continuously strengthen shared values and belonging across 15+ nationalities
  • Develop and implement frameworks that actively integrate diverse cultural norms, communication styles, and working practices into a cohesive, unified company culture

Performance Management & Compensation

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the performance management framework
  • Lead development of compensation and benefits strategies
  • Ensure fair, transparent, and competitive reward structures across all teams
  • Benchmark salary ranges regularly against local and international market data

HR Budget & Personnel Cost Management

  • Own and manage the annual HR budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all people initiatives
  • Lead personnel cost forecasting in close collaboration with the CEO, COO and CTO
  • Monitor headcount plans and model the financial impact of hiring, attrition, and compensation changes
  • Provide regular reporting on HR spend and workforce cost trends to leadership

Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes across multiple regions and disciplines
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and hiring strategies
  • Actively source candidates through LinkedIn, agencies, referrals, and other channels
  • Ensure a high-quality candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
  • Strengthen Solargis employer branding in international talent markets
  • Analyze recruitment metrics and continuously improve hiring effectiveness

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee core HR processes: onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and documentation
  • Ensure HR policies comply with Slovak Labour Code and international best practices
  • Optimize HR processes and systems for efficiency and scalability
  • Manage and develop the HR & Office team (currently 4 members)

Learning, Development & Employee Engagement

  • Identify training needs and design structured development programs
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing
  • Lead engagement initiatives and monitor employee satisfaction (e.g., surveys, feedback loops)
  • Support internal communication and employer branding activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or leadership HR role
  • Proven experience managing HR in international, multicultural teams
  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Excellent command of English and Slovak — both written and spoken
  • In-depth knowledge of Slovak Labour Code and applicable HR legislation; proactive in monitoring changes
  • Hands-on experience implementing performance management systems and compensation frameworks
  • Strong background in talent acquisition, including international sourcing
  • Solid HR operations expertise across the full employment lifecycle
  • Experience in learning & development and building organizational culture
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset with an ability to balance strategy and execution

 

Advantageous

  • Experience in tech, IT, cleantech, or the energy sector
  • Experience scaling an HR function during organizational growth
  • Familiarity with HR tools and HR analytics

Thank you for your job application and your interest in our company.

Your personal data contained in the job application and its attachments (e.g. in the CV) will be processed in accordance with the applicable legislation, in particular the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) no. 2016/679 ("GDPR"). Controller, recipients of data:

Your personal data will be processed by our company Solargis s.r.o., with the registered office at  Bottova 2A, 811 09 Bratislava, Slovakia, ID: 45 354 766 in the position of the controller. We send your application for employment and its attachments only to our internal employees and departments responsible for the application process. Your personal data will not be provided or made available to any third party.

Purposes and legal basis for the processing:

We will process and use your personal data only in connection with the processing of your application for employment in our company. Based on the data provided, we will decide on your suitability for the job. The legal basis for such processing of personal data is the adoption of steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (pre-contractual relations) under Art. 6 (1) letter b) of the GDPR. In case your application is successful, the data you have provided can be used during the course of your employment relationship. The legal basis of such processing is the performance of the employment contract under Art. 6 (1) letter b) of the GDPR.

Storage period:

If we cannot offer you employment with our company, we will delete the data you have provided during the application process at the latest in six (6) months.

In case you would like your application to be considered also for future vacancies, you have the possibility to grant the consent with the retention of your personal data for the period of two (2) years. If you consent to this, we will contact you if you have the necessary qualifications for another position that is to be occupied during this period. You can revoke the consent at any time by sending an email to legal@solargis.com. In case of revocation, we will immediately stop processing the respective personal data and delete them, unless there is another legal basis for their further processing. However, any processing performed before the revocation of your consent will remain lawful.

Rights of data subject:

In connection with the processing of your data you have the rights of data subject under Art. 15 et seq. of the GDPR, namely:

  • the right of access to personal data (providing a copy of personal data) and the right to information on the terms of processing of personal data within the scope of the Art. 15 of GDPR;
  • the right to request the rectification and completion of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • the right to erasure the personal data for the reasons set out in the Art. 17 of GDPR,
  • the right to restrict the processing of personal data in the cases provided for in the Art. 18 of GDPR,
  • the right to transfer the personal data to another controller.

In addition, you have the right to file a complaint to the Personal Data Protection Office of the Slovak Republic, if you consider that the processing of your personal data is contrary to the GDPR.
